Wire Wrap Jewelry
Make an Ear Wire

Here are the directions for making a basic ear wire for jewelry making. It is a very simple wire wrap that you will only need to use your basic wire wrapping tools. If you need a lot of these at one time, you may want to use a jig. Otherwise, there is no need.

You'll need these supplies:

  • wire, 20, 21 or 22 gauge; your preference

You'll need these tools:

  • Bent nose or chain nose plyers
  • round nose pliers
  • flush cutter
  • knitting needle, size 13
  • file

1.) Make an eye loop. Then bend the wire 90 degrees toward the open end of the eye loop. (If you're going to add a bead, add it here.)

2.) Loop the wire around the knitting needle until you get three quarters of the way there. Get the matching wire up to this point.
